THE STORY BEHIND THE IRISH COFFEE

The Irish Coffee’s roots trace back to 1940s Ireland, where bartender Joe Sheridan crafted the drink to comfort weary travelers at Foynes Port. Combining the warmth of coffee with the bold flavors of Irish whiskey and a touch of sweetness, this classic creation quickly became a worldwide favorite.

CRAFT YOUR OWN IRISH COFFEE AT HOME

If you’re celebrating from the comfort of home, try this easy recipe with Keeper’s Heart Whiskey:

Ingredients:

• 1 oz Keeper’s Heart Irish + American Whiskey
• ½ oz Local maple syrup
• 8 oz Fresh hot coffee
• 8 oz *Lightly whipped cream
• Dash Nutmeg

Instructions:

1. Warm mug with hot water for at least 20 seconds, then discard water. Add all ingredients, except cream, and stir briefly.
2. *Lightly whipped cream: In a blender bottle, add 8oz heavy cream and 1 tsp granulated sugar. Shake for 60 seconds.
3. Gently layer whipped cream over top. Grate nutmeg over top.
