Flaviar’s Single Barrel Pick: Keeper’s Heart Irish + American Whiskey Finished in Sauternes Barrels

Flaviar wanted to find a truly spectacular whiskey for their Members, so they sent liquor experts Noah Rothbaum and David Wondrich to our distillery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

They tasted through a range of barrel samples with our legendary master distiller Brian Nation and while it wasn’t an easy choice, the trio settled on an incredible blend of American rye and Irish pot still and grain whiskies, which was then finished in French sauternes wine barrels. In this case the sum is greater than the parts.

The resulting whiskey has both an incredible depth of rich flavor as well as a real elegance from the wine cask, which adds ethereal notes of honeyed sweetness, apricot, butterscotch and lively citrus.
